Deborah was ready to begin her daily feeding rounds of cats and dogs living on Kingston's (Jamaica) streets. Within seconds of her drive, she saw this little dog, limping, scrounging for food. She called him over to her and he approached. He put away his fear, he was so hungry. Deborah brought him to the KCAW kennels, and went back out to feed that day's dogs and cats. When she returned, she cleaned the dog up, checked him out, gave him meds for an injury on his shoulder. She named him Starboy. Within 3 weeks he recovered. He was ready to be neutered, and Deborah had already found his forever home!

One of our 2025 grantees, Start Over Sanctuary-Israel, named a new baby donkey, Karen, after the Animal-Kind International founder.

We awarded a 2025 Animal Welfare Organization Grant to the Rivadeneira Sterilization Center in Ecuador to hold spay/neuter campaigns in San Pablo, where they've worked before and have seen a high incidence of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. Their spay/neuter and animal welfare education project, funded by the AKI grant, will address these issues.

With their Animal Welfare Organization Grant from AKI, Fondation Alliance Verte in Port au Prince, Haiti vaccinated their 60 shelter dogs, keeping them safe from the most risky diseases for the year. This is not an easy task in Haiti! Obtaining the vaccines, getting the vet safely to the shelter and back, and in general, keeping shelter dogs (and cats) safe in Port au Prince takes dedication and courage. We're proud to support the work of Fondation Alliance Verte!

Tanzania Small Animal Veterinary Organization rescued this tiny kitty, cared for him, and once healthy, he was adopted (and of course was neutered). TASAVO's 2024 grant from AKI covered the costs.

One of our 13 Animal Welfare Grantees (2025), Fondation Alliance Verte - Haiti, vaccinated their shelter dogs, keeping them safe from many diseases for another year. Sixty shelter dogs received rabies and combo shots, all funded with a grant from Animal-Kind International! Providing shelter and vet care for dogs (and cats) in Haiti is unlike doing this anywhere else. Simply going out on the street means risking your life. We're proud to help FAV-Haiti in this small way face their very big challenges.
