From Morris Darbo (Director, Liberia Animal Welfare & Conservation Society):
"We are always grateful to Animal-Kind International for the continued financial support that keeps us active in Zorzor and Voinjama."
And we at Animal-Kind International are always grateful to our supporters, without whom we would be unable to help LAWCS remain active in Zorzor and Voinjama! Your donations help support the LAWCS Humane Education Program. Here are some of the accomplishments.
Godgift has been part of the LAWCS Humane Education Program in his school for the past two years. After participating in the program, Godgift talked to his father about adopting a puppy and that's how PRETTY came into his life. They're now best friends. Here's Godgift in his own words.
Mary never cared about animals until she participated in the LAWCS Humane Education Program. She said the program helped her understand that animals having feelings like we have. They feel pain, they need love, they need us to provide care, food, water, and shelter to keep them healthy and happy. Her family had a dog they used for hunting, but now that Mary learned more about animals and their needs, the dog, Do Good, is no longer used for hunting and is part of their family.
Molubah is a LAWCS Animal Kindness Club member in Zorzor. Molubah adopted his dog, Survival, because he learned all about how to provide good care for pets from the Humane Education Program. He felt he was ready to give a dog the care and love required, so he acquired Survival.
Princess was once afraid of dogs because of the negative stories and myths she heard about them. Princess would throw stones at dogs to chase them away. But then she participated in the LAWCS Humane Education Program in her school in Zorzor District where she learned that dogs are wonderful companions that love unconditionally and help humans with other services including security and companionship. Princess learned to love dogs and other animals which led her father to bring home a dog for her. They named him Bush.
This is Aloysius and his pet dog Good Friend. Like most of the other children in the LAWCS Humane Ed Program, Aloysius didn't care about dogs or cats. But his participation in the LAWCS program changed that.
T.Girl and her lovely dog Bush have become best friends. When others see the closeness of their relationship, they begin to understand why animals are so important and they are inspired to care for and love animals. The AKI-supported, LAWCS Humane Education Program isn't just about what the kids learn in school. The students take that knowledge and demonstrate to their friends and family how to be kind and how to care for the animals who live around us.
Animal-Kind International (via your donations) is the main supporter of the Liberia Animal Welfare & Conservation Society Humane Education Program in Zorzor and Voinjama.
