These Special Projects are designed to bring quick relief to animals in very difficult circumstances. You can help by designating your donation (below) to the Special Project of your choice.

Fondation Alliance Verte in Haiti was a 2025 grantee. After FAV completed their grant project, we wanted to do more, so we established a Spay/Neuter & Emergency Vet Fund for FAV.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and ranks among the most impoverished nations globally. Gangsters control most of Haiti's capital, Port au Prince. According to The Economist, Haitians suffer from severe hunger more than people in war-racked Sudan. Violence not only affects people, but also cats and dogs.
With many people fleeing the country, pet abandonment rates are very high. Yet through it all, under such difficult and dangerous conditions, FAV continues to help animals and run the only animal shelter in Haiti.
The S/N & Emergency Vet Fund helps FAV by providing ongoing support, the key to keeping FAV operational and for helping so many of Haiti's suffering animals. Haiti's animals need our support now!

SPCA Grahamstown in South Africa was a four-time grantee (2022 through 2025). Their amazing dedication and the relief they brought to pets and their people caught the eyes of our supporters, who wanted to ensure the SPCA could continue, beyond the grant projects, to spay, neuter, and provide vet care in impoverished areas around Grahamstown/Makhanda.
Thanks to them, we created the Good DOG (Dogs of Grahamstown) Fund, a source of sustained funding that not only helps dogs, but also cats, and has provided emergency vet care for donkeys and a cow, too.
The Good DOG FUND 2 sterilized 54 cats and dogs and covered costs of: 3 amputations, 1 eye enucleation, 1 pyometra, 1 mammary gland removal, 1 blood transfusion, 1 rectal prolapse, 2 TVT cases, 9 x-rays, 2 blood tests, 2 poisonings, 1 snakebite, 6 cases of biliary, 42 Nexguards, 39 de-wormers, and MORE! -->
The Good DOG Fund was replenished in June 2026, creating the Good DOG Fund 3. You can contribute to this highly impactful fund using the donation form below.

The animal rescue scam in Uganda has plagued us for years. Scammers have harmed cats, dogs, and even rabbits as they try to extort donations from animal-loving people around the world.
The scammers are located mainly in Mityana, and most of them are young men (two giveaways that you've been approached by a scammer), but they may claim to be anywhere in Uganda, and women are scamming, as well.
We're part of a group of legitimate animal welfare organizations working in Uganda, the Animal Welfare Alliance of Uganda, and together, we're trying to bring the scammers to justice.
Animal-Kind International has pledged to support the initial vet care (e.g., vaccines, parasite treatment, blood tests, spay/neuter) for the cats and dogs rescued via AWAU from scammers.
To-date, we've supported vet care for 52 dogs (photo left) and 6 cats. We expect (and hope that) the number of rescued animals will grow, and to prepare for that, we created a fund to ensure we can help when needed.

Liberia Animal Welfare & Conservation Society has been an AKI Partner Organization since 2026 when we started funding their Humane Education Program and Remote Animal Clinics.
With our own eyes, we've seen the results of their Humane Ed Program (like Moses and his cat-->), but we wanted to be able to tell the LAWCS' story to others; we want to show how the LAWCS Humane Ed Program has improved the lives of Liberia's animals. And after 10 years, we felt we had lessons to share with others.
We paired LAWCS with a virtual mentor (our Friendly Audit Program) and she helped LAWCS develop a Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning Plan.

Then, LAWCS conducted interviews with teachers, community members, and student alumni. In all, they interviewed and recorded 85 people! They collected responses and quotes <-- and they're now analyzing the data. You can show your support for LAWCS dedication and contribute to improving animals' lives in Liberia ↓
