Animal-Kind International funded the Animal Welfare Society of Cameroon's grant project, "Supplemental feeding for 200 working donkeys during periods of drought and intense activity." The grant project helped donkeys of cotton producing farmers ensure their donkeys health and well-being during this critical period.

Tanzania Small Animal Veterinary Organization received their 3rd grant from Animal-Kind International (2023, 2024, and 2025) to trap-neuter-vaccinate-release dogs and cats to humanely manage the street animal population in Dar es Salaam. TASAVO TNVR'd a total of 344 cats and dogs!

Animal-Kind International supports Animal Smile Africa (in Tanzania): Hands On Healing
Animal-Kind International's 2025 Animal Welfare Grant Program provided support to Animal Smile, located in Mpwapwa in central Tanzania, for their project, Hands On Healing. The goal of Hands On Healing was: To create future leaders in animal welfare, reduce suffering of our furry friends, protecting the public from zoonotic diseases, and inspire kindness through direct care, learning, and community engagement.

SPCA Grahamstown neuters dogs with their grant from Animal-Kind International
The SPCA Grahamstown's 2025 Animal-Kind International-funded grant project is, Project Amadoda. Amadoda is isiXhosa for “Men.” And that was the focus of the SPCA's project: To address the welfare of male dogs in Joza township by improving their health and well-being through neutering to reduce fighting, injuries, and roaming.

INADES Formation-Kenya provides care for donkeys rescued from the skin trade
Animal-Kind International gave INADES Formation an additional grant (a top-up award), which allowed them to hold donkey health clinics for re-homed donkeys rescued from the skin and slaughter trade in Kenya.

Sterilize to Transform the Lives of Cats & Dogs: Rivadeneira Sterilization Center, Ecuador
Animal-Kind International awarded a grant, one of 13 under our 8th annual Animal Welfare Organization Grant Program, to the Rivadeneira Sterilization Center in Ecuador. We also granted them a top-up award (given to five of our 2025 grantees) because of the great work they did on their grant project, Sterilize to Transform Lives. The top-up allowed them to continue sterilizing dogs and cats in remote parts of Ecuador, reaching a total of 86 animals.

Huellas De Amor in Colombia spays dogs in impoverished areas
The Asociación Huellas De Amor Eje Cafetero (Colombia) grant project, Ethical Control of the Canine Population in High-Vulnerability Areas, targeted Buenaventura for their sterilization campaign to spay 85 dogs. This is one of the areas most affected by poverty, violence, and animal abandonment.

Vida de Gatos in Chile sterilizes cats to prevent abandonment
The Animal-Kind International grant to The Vida de Gatos (Chile), “More Sterilizations, Less Abandonment,” provided 100 free sterilizations in communities with a high cat abandonment rate. All cats were also vaccinated against rabies. Families were given information about responsible ownership.

Fondation Alliance Verte-Haiti helps dog Blacky & 3 cats with AKI's top-up grant
After Fondation Alliance Verte in Haiti completed their Animal-Kind International-funded grant project, we knew they still needed a lot more support to help their rescued cats and dogs. So we awarded them a top-up grant for vet care of their shelter pets. When you read about Blacky, you'll see why we're so grateful we could help this special dog, as well as 3 newly rescued cats.

Triglav Trust in Namibia made improvements to the cattery for their rescued cats
Animal-Kind International awarded a grant to Triglav Trust in Namibia to create a safe, dry, and warm space for the rescued cats in their sanctuary. Prior to this grant project, even during the lightest rain, the water ran into the catteries at all the roof nails, as well as where the roof sheets overlapped, and the catteries would completely flood.

Shelter for 100+ donkeys and vet care for 1: Starting Over Sanctuary-Israel
With our grant to Starting Over Sanctuary in Israel (the 2nd time SoS has been an Animal-Kind International grantee), more than 100 donkeys (and horses too, when needed) now have a sturdy shed to enjoy on windy winter days and during hot summer months. Also, thanks to AKI supporters who wanted to provide even more help to SoS, we topped up their grant and designated the additional funds for vet care, which SoS used to help Hanukah, the rescued donkey.

Amor y Abrigo in Honduras completes spay-neuter grant project
Another of Animal-Kind International's 13 2025 Animal Welfare Grant recipients successfully completed their grant project. Amor y Abrigo in Honduras proposed a spay-neuter project targeting La Lima in the department of Cortés, while also helping Zamorano Agricultural school address their stray cat and dog problem on their sprawling campus.

Fondation Alliance Verte - Haiti takes care of their shelter dogs with AKI grant
As the security situation allows, Fondation Alliance Verte in Haiti, an Animal-Kind International 2025 grantee, has continued to rescue cats and dogs in need and provide vet care. Over the past three years, FAV has rescued and given shelter to 70 dogs and 80 cats. That's an amazing achievement given the danger that each rescue entails.
